@Rarity
DM: Hey, I've got an idea for a quick one-on-one roleplaying bit to help establish Rarity and Dainty Dove before the Gala.
Rarity: You know I'm always interested, but I feel as though I've had enough personal focus in this campaign already. Why not work with the other players on building character?
DM: I am, actually. I'm building a list of farm upgrades for Applejack.
HOW R(DAINTY DOVE)TY GOT HER GROOVY BACK
DM: I've got Rainbow Dash thinking about the kinds of favors she'll ask the Wonderbolts for saving their lives.
Rarity: Ah, alright. Well, we know that Rarity is going on one last fashion tour before going on a long "sabbatical." I guess I should make sure the Dainty Dove alias is all squared away and airtight.
DM: Right. Your friends will back you up, but… They can only do so much to burnish your reputation. It has to hold up. Though Twilight's going to put in a good word with Celestia, so there's that.
Rarity: Yes, because this entire scheme hinges on Celestia not outing me as a Thief.
I reeeeeally wanted to do one more IDW mini-arc, and I wanted to buy The Grand Galloping Gala a bit more time for… reasons. So here's a 7-page arc based on the Rarity issue of the early Micro Series.
Yellow dialogue in [brackets] is the DM speaking out of character, for anyone who's confused. Had to consolidate some of the existing balloons.
Scrapped dialogue:
DM: Fluttershy is looking up mythical animals… I asked Pinkie Pie to figure out a way to liven up the party, but I haven't heard from her since. I'm a little scared.
This may have been discussed before, but I don't see how this scheme can possibly work. Celestia knows Rarity's class and affiliation, Dainty Dove is a dead ringer for Rarity, and it's impossible for Celestia to be unaware if her nephew becomes betrothed. Why WOULDN'T Celestia not then out Rarity as a Thief? Is there any indication that she thinks Rarity has gone on the straight and narrow?
They know they can't fool Celestia but Rulers often know a lot of dirty secrets they don't act on out of courtesy or convience and would like to keep Rarity's Identity one of those.
Hell yeah. Having an asset with character levels is a damn handy thing for any ruler, especially if they're mid to high level. Celestia is savvy enough to keep Rarity's secret and clever enough to use that leverage sparingly as needed.
Which makes me wonder..... What are the odds some of the wedding episode shots make it into the next story?
Wait a minute. Rainbow Dash just got a glimpse of at least one...compromised stallion, and now she's licking her lips. Is this an affirmation that she swings that way?
I didn't have a hard time understanding once I read the note about the speech bubbles, but now I'm just dieing to know how Content Aware Fill would handle them.
