Rainbow Dash: Wait... investigate? How?
Pinkie Pie: How? By thinking back to who said what in the previous rounds.
Applejack: well, considering both Derpy and–
DM: Ah! Nope! I don't think so! You're dead, remember?
Twilight Sparkle: Rike and Cory said that they heard something in Gordon's direction. We know we can trust them because they were taken out by the Mafia. We also need to consider... why Applejack?
Soarin (Phil): Yeah, she got targetted twice. Someone on the Mafia must be holding a grudge or something!
Rarity: Do you think perhaps one of them believes Applejack could be a real threat to them? She does have a good head on her shoulders, after all.
Trixie (Nat): So in other words, we're looking at Shining Armor, Soarin, and Fluttershy because they're grouped up together. We also believe at least one of them knows Applejack well enough... and has played the game before.
Twilight Sparkle: Well, the only one from our group who's played mafia before would be Rarity...
Pinkie Pie: I know for sure that Phil's never played Mafia before...
Twilight Sparkle: ...Also, I trust Phil, AKA Soarin. I don't think he or Rainbow Dash are Mafia. Okay, so here's what we know. We can trust what Cory and Rika had to say because we know they're not Mafia. We also know that at least one of them has played before and knows AJ well enough to target her.
Rainbow Dash: The Mafia who was heard and the Mafia who chose AJ must be two different ponies, then.
Twilight Sparkle: There's one more thing we need to consider. DM was also killed during the first night.
Soarin (Phil): That... doesn't narrow it down much.
Trixie (Nat): Well, Big Mac would've been the perfect suspect, but you saw how well that went. He's played before, was in the general area that Rika heard a sound from, and AJ's his cousin.
Shining Armor (Gordon): You really think AJ would make a good player, even though she accused RD right off the bat?
Twilight Sparkle: Well... we do know of at least one person here who'd target Applejack, believing she'd be a good player. Isn't that right... Rarity?
Pinkie Pie: I knew it! So it was you!
Newbiespud's Note: A (probably necessary) reminder of who's playing who in terms of the One Piece Grand Line 3.5 cast:
Big Macintosh = Cory, Derpy = Rika, Doctor Whooves = Luke, Trixie = Natalie, Shining Armor = Gordon, Soarin = Phil, and Luna = DM (not the FiD DM, just "DM").
Okay, Mafia 101 is that you target anybody who makes hilariously wrong accusations. Sure, it's not quite random, but the minimal amount of information it gives is worth it for the high probability of giving strong misinformation.
Guess I'm getting lynched, or offed, then. As I love to make hilariously wrong accusations on the grounds of hilarity. Mind you, I usually wind up right which actually irks me some...being wrong and surprised is way more fun.
Well, I can't see logic behind Twilight's conclusion. Would I be an mafioso, my first move would be random, it's the best move, btw. If one of targets failed, I'd try it again cause chances of it being Nurse are high enough.
Hm, setup for a panel full of Rarity Investigates trenchcoat as she points at somebody else?
(And then seaweed-strewn PPOV version as the town decides to send her on a long walk off a short pier anyway?)
This is going to be fun.
And Rarity was the one wearing the trenchcoat that was later seen soaking wet in PPOV.
If RD does get accused again, oh the opportunities for a Turnabout Storm reference.
Obviously Applejack would get taken out twice. After the first attempt, everypony would know she's innocent, so they'd listen to her more when deciding who to lynch, making it harder for the mafia to target innocent ponies. Also, since nopony would lynch her, they're more likely to lynch the mafia.
Not completely obvious, since the Nurse might consider the same thing and continue protecting her. If you keep throwing kills at a Nurse-protected player, that's one wasted kill every turn. And, it only further entrenches in peoples' minds that the player should be someone the citizens can rally behind.
I think, eliminating one maf will reduce their kills per night.
(Of course, if Rarity is a civ, the Mafia instantly wins and comic ends, and this is boring.)
I haven't read the night comics, but I feel like Twilight is Mafia here. Her talk about the eye dilation was a comment she wouldn't have actually noticed but she got a pass on because she's twilight and would notice that. She's also being overly analytical, almost like she's planned this entire thing. And knowing her, she would have planned how this all goes down.
I think Rarity is being framed and Twilight is playing 4-d chess.
That said, if Rarity is Mafia, then RD might be too, because Rarity defended her earlier.
Well Fluttershy is easy, Wither she's on the Mafia or the Town side she's still Fluttershy and therefore reluctant to get herself involved in social conflict.
Dr hooves however is the same player as Luffy so absolutely no clue why he hasn't tried something crazy yet.
If both detectives are still in play, why don't they advertise themselves as such, and share all the information they've gathered so far? It will make them prime targets for the Mafia, but this is Mafia match point already - the only way the town can win now is if they lynch a Mafia tonight (and even then it'll be tough).
Sure, they may or may not be believed, but it'll get the information out there, and I don't see much reason not to do it.
