Applejack: Soooo... That's blatant cheating, then. Magic's not somethin' the officials check at the door?
DM: Well, unicorns don't usually compete. It's not unheard of, and certainly allowed, but not very common at all.
Pinkie Pie: There's also bribery! Can't forget bribery!
Rarity: Yes, I'm afraid the Guild might have all their bases covered on this one. I'm not even competing as myself, but as a prepared identity: "Wingsong."
Twilight Sparkle: Ugggh. How much do you want to bet that trying to tell Celestia with anything other than smoke signals will tip the Thieves Guild off?
Fluttershy: And if we try to expose them... Not only will Rarity get blocked... but won't the Guild become the big story, when we need it to be Rainbow Dash?
Rainbow Dash: This is fine. Everything is fine.
As for the comic, this was basically my larp character in a V:tR larp, every session.
Other PCs: "Terry, where have you been!? An explosion with near-nuclear payload just hit New Bedford!"
Me: "EVERYTHING IS FINE!"
-or-
Other PCs: "Terry we heard that one of the bad guys was trying to kill you out here! Thank goodness we came just in ti-
...Terry, why are you standing over that woman with a ritual knife?"
Me: "I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING, EVERYTHING IS FINE!"
This guy would later go on to be Prince, and actually SURVIVED his reign ending. I'm so proud of that little hellspawn I called a character. ^_^
Sometimes (in real life) I respond to the question "How are things going?" with "I didn't do it! It was on fire when I got here!" just to see the looks on their faces.
As coolbond says, LRR has been very active in the last 3 years... they just don't make weekly sketches anymore.
Doesn't mean they're not playing 40+ hours of video games on Twitch, or releasing Crapshots (30-90 second videos, compared to their previous 3-4 minute sketches).
Also Qwerpline!!! (which is Grahm and Alex hosting a fake radio show with the rest of the crew as guest stars)
Now that it's been brought up, I've sees some of the avatars here in the LRR Youtube comments. There's a pretty cool amount of overlap between FID and LRR fandoms. xD
Like everyone else has said, LRR is still around, while they focus far more on Twitch (and much of that is not just game playing) the big thing right now is the show "Loading Ready Live" which is well worth a look!
Been a while since I did a MLP poll.
Here's one I've been saving.
Favorite 2 parter episode.
Me:The Cutie Remark
Multiple realities, a surprising villain, and most importantly, Twilight gets her own friendship student.
Friendship Is Magic. Cheap answer, I know, being the series premiere but it helped to set the tone for the rest of the series right there. Plus Luna's design in that episode was so cute! I love her redesign mind you, but it was still super cute! Not that the other two partners aren't all awesome in their own ways, but Friendship Is Magic is tops for me.
To Where and Back Again. I've been wanting them to do that exact thing since season 2. Secondary characters rescuing the Mane 6, and a proper adventure quest. Plus Trixie's development was really good.
Oh dear, I think I feel another player meltdown coming. Not that it would be hard to understand, Dash's story is starting to turn into Rarity's. And to be perfectly honest, even if I was just one of the players off to the side of this I'd probably be starting to get a bit fed up with this.
To be fair this is her 3rd time being kind of shoved out of the spotlight of a session where she is a star and should be getting her ticket. Fall weather friends was a contest between her and Applejack, only for the two to agree to give over the ticket to twilight. Hurricane Fluttershy was another about her but she gave the ticket up to Fluttershy. Think this is her 'three strikes, I lose it!'
That and frankly 95% of any players, including myself would be sick of the thieve's guild being an excuse to lead them around by the nose. Almost all the good players I know at this point, were they playing Rarity, would decide to just go rogue *ba dum pssh*. Hell if I was in this game about now I'd be suggesting we declare war on the thieves guild outright. We'd know enough to hurt them and an organization like the thieve's guild only really survives by being descreet and not having attention drawn to them. The 6 greatest heroes of the land constantly running your agents down in the street and burning your fronts and illegal business to the ground would not only hurt business it'd be revealing to everyone how widespread you were and how badly things were out of hand....hoof.
