Rarity: One way or another, it sounds like this is our current course of action.
Fluttershy: Yes, yes, yes! Let's ask the adorable creatures for help, please!
DM: Their return trip brings them through Ponyville tomorrow.
Twilight Sparkle: So today... I guess we keep training as if everything is normal.
Rainbow Dash: Which means more Coach McDash! <inhale>
DM: UH-UH-UH-UH-UH!

SFX: (fwee)
DM: <sigh>
I don't have much to add to this page. I just like the beats here.
So on a completely different topic: In a couple of months, we'll be staring down the barrel of a 5-year anniversary of this niche pony webcomic thing. Isn't that nuts?
5 years without a missed day.
That is great. I haven't seen any other webcomic that has done that.
They either give up, or just lose their steam.
Part of that is that you take a break to prepare the next episode, by allowing us to send stuff for between them.
You also keep track of comments and respond some times. That tells us that you pay attention to us, and we like that.
Finish your fifth, and let's aim for six.
Or they lose their job on the day they're trying to close on a house, end up nearly homeless, and unemployed for 7 months trying to find whatever work they can, giving up the comic in order to find avenues of income.
Schlock Mercenary's gone a few weeks short of sixteen years (daily) without a single missed update. Even when the data centre which hosts the comic blew up and was offline for a couple of days, the comics for those days appeared on schedule on an alternate site...
Friendship is Dragons has still done something seriously impressive, mind you, by hitting five years. I'm just indicating that there are others.
Here's an idea for you DM's, How about one based on video game characters?
Legend of Zelda comes to mind, he starts off weak, but with every dungeon he becomes stonger.
Maybe a multiple heroes version of it.
Most dungeons are basically, look out gor traps fight the creatures and get the loot.
With this you can set puzzles and riddles to make them think.
And the items they get can be use to get stuff they couldn't get before.
Yeah. Multi-hero Zelda is pretty much just a D&D dungeon crawl (albeit, probably with more puzzles and traps and less grinding through armed bags of HP).
The last four panels looks like Dash is going in slow motion. That, or Dash is simply moving at the same speed as everyone else over a longer period of time, taking that much longer for the annoying whistle to keep going off. ... I am officially going to use that the next time I GM, just so I can find new and interesting ways to mess with my players (and vice versa). Yay for science.
