Applejack: Ah wrote that letter just after Ah started talkin' to Miss Jubilee. Ah knew at that point that Ah was gonna help her out for a little while as a "change of scenery."
Rainbow Dash: Yeah, 'cuz that doesn't sound shady as all get out.
Rarity: Was there any coercion involved? Not just threats; did she bribe you with some kind of under-the-table incentive?
Twilight Sparkle: Did she approach you first? Does she know about our Grand Galloping Gala quest?
Applejack: No. No. No. ...Yes.
Rainbow Dash: So THAT'S it! Did she steal it? Is she holding your ticket hostage?!
Applejack: For Pete's sake, no! It just came up in casual conversation! Like Ah told you, the ticket will be taken care of!
DM: The treadmill speeds up. Three of you aren't sorting cherries. This next roll's going to be a doozy.
Fluttershy: Maybe Rarity or Rainbow Dash should come back?
Rainbow Dash: In a sec! We're getting close, I can feel it!
At this moment in my life, during a holiday when we're encouraged to count our blessings, there's few positives and many negatives right now. But with absolute certainty, this comic and you guys keep me going when times get tough. And I'm very thankful for that.
Happy to be able to contribute in some way, then. For a while this comic was my motivation to get up in the morning, so it's very much a two-way street.
I'm glad for this comic series being so witty and enjoyable, along with fun commentators that love to share stories with me. There are few comic sites as welcoming as this one. :D
Happy thanksgiving Spud, glad to hear that we are something you are thankful for. I know I'm thankful for finding this comic and inturn finding Fallout is Dragons and having something fun to look forward to during the week
wow we are fast approaching the season Finale and the dreadful hiatus that follows
so we learn several things in this episode that add to the lore and we get another "Oh so this character was friends with one of the mane six and we are only hearing about them now?" moments
so onto the highlights
1) Pony music festavils are a thing and they sound like fun (I mean I wouldn't be surprised to see a PonyPalooza or Helping Hooves music festival being held this summer)
2) Pony Lady Gaga (Rara born Countess Coloratura voiced by Lena Hall born Celina Consuela Gabriella Carvajal... if that's not perfect casting I don't know what is)
3) So Applejack went to friendship camp with a Pony named Coloratura and she nicknamed her Rara and there was no mention of this pony in the past 5 seasons until it became relevent... seems legit
4)This episode had so many callbacks I love when a show acknowledges previous episodes in the continuity
5) The manager is a jerk... his name is Svengallop... that is a reference to something... Maybe This
6) Pony Autotune is a thing and it makes sense that magic is how it's done
7) Photofinish has...Returned
8) Applebloom fangirling is cute
9) This episode had some great music and the song at the end is just perfect
10) The lesson of this episode hits close to home. As a trans-woman I can appreciate the lesson of being true to yourself and what makes you special, RaRa is an amazing singer and pony it was only after she let go of the fear that nopony would listen to her music if she was herself did she realize just how special she was. We don't need to hide behind a persona if we are true to areselves and what makes us special... that is a solid lesson
okay so that was lenghty but necessary
onto the Finale
Admittedly, I have lots of childhood friends that I don't really talk about to my current friends. They even added the bit about Rara no longer responding to AJ's letters, which means it makes extra sense for AJ to not really talk about her anymore.
It seems perfectly legit to me that she never mentioned Rara before. I don't think I've even once mentioned my elementary school friends to my current group that I've known for nine years, but if one of them became famous I'm sure I'd find that I remember more about those people than I think.
I can not help but suspect that the musical numbers in this episode were a shout out to, and/or inspired by, all those Pony Music Videos that have been made so far. Among multiple other aspects: we had not seen solid evidence before that ponies did glitz & glamour as we know them, though it was alluded to; now we know it happens.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Even though I don't comment on here as often, I'm still glad to be following along with this comic and this community. I hope you all can count your blessings and enjoy the holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving, USAans.
Also, happy Day Which Is Just Like Any Other, for all us from other parts of the world.
Any stories about conflicts over land (Preferably averted ones), while we're at it?
I prefer not to think of it as a day like any other so much as a unique and singular day that will never again come to pass... Just like every other day.
Land conflicts... Well, that describes 90% of Warhammer 40K plots, with the remaining 10% being unearthing heresy or attacking for something other than land, like slaves. I'll say just this: Tyranids.
In one campaign I've mentioned before, a moon-sized piece of land wanted to hurl itself into a certain planet. The inhabitants of said planet objected for obvious reasons. The riders of said moon-alike thought they were in control, just riding it to the planet which they planned to invade, and surely the moon would park safely in orbit to be their base until they had conquer the planet. Although the war technically lasted about a century, the action was mostly concentrated at the beginning and end with a 99 year recovery between. Ultimately, the (effectively) moonship was conquered and piloted away.
Happy thanksgiving! Allow me to give you a traditional recipe I created yesterday. It was so good, even picky family members had seconds.
Mexican turkey green bean casserole:
1 lb turkey, shredded
1/2 tsp italian seasoning
2 tsp chili powder
2 tbsp minced dried onion
2 cans green beans
1 family size can cream of mushroom
1 7oz can green chilis
1 tsp taco seasoning
5 eggs
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
2 tbsp crumbled parmesan
Potato flakes
Shred turkey with two forks in wide pan, then turn stove to medium and add 2 cans green beans, 1 drained, 1 with juice. Add green chilis and cream of mushroom. Add chili powder, italian seasoning, and taco seasoning.
In separate bowl, beat five eggs with a fork until well mixed, then stir in cream of tartar thoroughly. Add eggs while stirring pan, and turn burner to 5 o'clock.
Add onions and parmesan, and cook for fifteen minutes, constantly stirring. Add potato flakes to thicken as desired. I recommend thickening it to the point you can dip it up with a basting spoon, but not past that.
Chicken can be substituted, but it's turkey season right now.
EDIT: Forgot the parmesan. For you Europeans, thats Parmigiano-Reggiano. I forgot to write that on my recipe file, but have since corrected the mistake.
I'm... Confused.
Where's the trick?
There's going to be something wrong with the recipe, right?
Is it the chili-powder? Not sure if 2 tsp is much, rarely use it.
Naw, Raxon's cooking suggestions have always been pretty decent. Sometimes he exhibits the strange American preoccupation of mixing sweet with savoury, but that's it.
The sweet and savory thing isn't just an american thing, but it might be more common in the USA than any other country. That aside, I also have a recipe for pizza peppers that's pretty good, I think. Gluten free, so your dick won't fly off.
I'm thankful for ... the masses of hysteria that have been known to potentially (and already has) killed people known as 'Black Friday' that shows up right that day after we're suppose to be thankful for the things we have.
... Yeah, I'm that guy. Anyway, here's my guilt trip to myself. Hope you all have a good Thanksgiving and not needing to go to a Wal-Mart tomorrow.
I treat Black Friday like Z-Day: lock all the doors, close all the curtains, verify that all weapons are in working order, and don't leave the neighborhood. It is nice to go for a stroll around the park, though, and laugh at the traffic on the freeway.
...is it alright, in that context, to be grateful for online shopping, Cyber Monday, and being able to get such tasks done (including selecting the perfect gift from a much wider variety) quickly so as to leave more time for enjoying being with friends and family?
Today at work, I had a whim to read the entire first story arc of this comic (I was on break, don't worry). And may I just say... wow. I had forgotten how special this comic was. That happens sometimes; when I'm all caught up on a webcomic, and I read it on the days it updates, it just becomes a humdrum part of my morning routine. But when a story arc is over, I usually go back and I read the entirety of said arc all in one sitting and I always go, "Whoa. I didn't notice at first, but this was actually a really great story."
And I hadn't realized that the early strips of the comic are actually older than Season 2! That's certainly something special. At least from my perspective. See, the first time I ever watched FIM - I'd *seen* it, but the first time I made the decision to sit down and actually *watch* - was, unbeknownst to me and by amazing coincidence, the day Season 2 premiered. And obviously, I was like "Okay. Now I get it." See, I'd watched it because it was all over TVtropes like white on rice... and this was BEFORE season 2! How weird to think that it was already such a phenomenon then, when there was so little of it... I remember finding out that "Cupcakes" actually pre-dates "Party of One". That was the scariest thing I'd ever heard. XD
This... this is a very special world we're a part of, the brony thing. And Season 5 ends in just two days. Where does the time go?
Life is hard and painful. But there's good food and drink even if you are allergic to much it, and there is music that is good to hear whether you can dance or not. The bright side is that we're not dead yet, and even if someone in the family is terminally ill we're all together and getting along now, so that's what matters!
Sorry, I'm not real good at cheering people up right now. This comic makes me happy. I hope the number of positives in your life increases and the number of negatives decreases. God bless you.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it! Happy Thursday to those who don't!
...It is very likely that your Thanksgiving is better than mine, as I was sick all day and last night, throwing up. I will be thankful if I don't have to go through that again, but my body hates me...
I'm just thinking of the comments from an earlier post where we were saying "OBJECTION!" And "HOLD IT!" And "TAKE THAT!" And how well those could fit in these last couple of posts.
Gimme a sec
*Picks up non-lethal version of gun that literally shoots out Thanks*
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!
*Starts shooting everyone and everything with it*
MAY YOUR TURKEYS MAKE EXCELLENT PUNCHING GLOVES!
Ignore my comment saying "not my to knowledge". I depressed and forgot about the part where I mentioned the Turkey punching gloves. For some reason I thought you meant my non-lethal thanks gun.
Spud, I like to think that any day I can look back and say I survived - well, that was a good day. I'm not sure exactly what you're going through man, but try to buck up (you know I had to use that term on an MLP comic page). It's all about your perspective. There's always someone worse off then you.
I, too, thank you for faithfully continuing this comic. I haven't been responding to it, but I have been enjoying it.
