Twilight Sparkle: So, Applejack! Your letter said, and I quote, "Not coming back." But here you're saying this is temporary! Did that change between writing the letter and now?
Rarity: Going for the "cross-examination" approach, are we?
Applejack: Well… Ah ALSO said that Ah'd have the ticket soon. Figured that was enough to imply a return.
Twilight Sparkle: But it was addressed to your family. Would you really be that vague to them?
DM: At this point, you're not contributing to the sorting anymore.
Twilight Sparkle: That's fine. My Dexterity isn't that high anyway.
Rainbow Dash: Oh, oh! Hold it! If there's a contradiction between what you wrote then and what you're saying now, that means… you're REALLY bad at writing!
Applejack: ...Yes.
Rainbow Dash: I think we're making a breakthrough…!
It's not often that the way forward involves admitting - however indirectly - that you suck at your primary trade, but here we are.
Both Fallout is Dragons and Dynamic Duo happened this week, but couldn't quite finish the editing in time. They'll be going up first thing tomorrow morning.
What I'm finding most interesting here is the GM struggling to play Applejack. In my brief experience I haven't even tried, usually not running a session at all if some of the players aren't present. I'm surprised the other players aren't looking to take advantage, although RD is looking a bit devious here...
I've had to play missing player characters many times. It gets easier with practice, but still difficult because my mind is now split between sorting the GM stuff and NPCs opposing the party and the player I'm handling which shouldn't know everything that my GM side is plotting. ...okay maybe it doesn't get that much easier.
At least it's never complicated enough where you have to play multiple factions simultaneously... with the same complexity as playing PCs... You have to keep in mind each factions' interests and what they do or don't know about each other... as well as their interactions with the PCs...
Although, fortunately, those factions are rarely in the same room as each other, so... yay?
Speaking of DM's having trouble playing an absentee player character, Spud has avoided playing Powderkeg since it was announced that Lapis was not returning to the group. MasterWeaver has been trying to plug powderkeg into situations but so far Spud has shot it down each time. My question is will Spud roleplay powderkeg in the big session 50 tomorrow?
I don't think he will. Doesn't seem like his kind of bag, playing other PC characters. Also, we don't know the circumstances of the separation so it might have been requested that Powder not be NPC'd. I've had such requests as a GM and I always adhere to them out of respect.
Very easy. One game session went something like this:
GM: "The king's men blah, blah, blah..."
PLAYER points dramatically: "OBJECTION! MY CHARACTER blah, blah, blah!"
Even those who got the reference (I didn't at the time) stared at him.
HOLD IT!
One doesn't need to be familiar with Phoenix Wright to appreaciate the Reference.
...
As someone who had never played the games and only knows these references because of the MLP crossover Turnabout Storm I prove that point here...TAKE THAT!
I liked that series, Turnabout Storm. I would like to see another, following Trixie where she takes on the roll of defender and uses what she learned from Phoenix to win.
Yes, that would be exciting, although since the maker of the first one felt it put too much strain on her making the first one, she said they're wouldn't be a second...
However... *presents evidence, Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpi_VzmPISQQ_mVi3tx508g Ace Attorney Elements of Justice* TAKE THAT! *Desk slam then epic zoom in* It seems like someone is attempting to make another sequel based in the same universe but with the attorneys from Duel Destinies!
Rainbow Dash, if you're here talking to Applejack, then that means you're not using your absurd dexterity to sort cherries. If only I had a penny for every time I've come across this situation.
... and Twilight came in (I think) 5th in the running of the leaves. Don't get me wrong, I am almost certain bad things are going to happen in the next few pages, I just think they won't run that parallel to the show.
