I feel like a bit of an impostor for leaning on a reference like this, since I'm not even old enough for Ghostbusters to have been a contemporary film. (Though certainly old enough to have become a TV staple and pop culture monolith when I was growing up.)

Notice: Guest comic submissions are open! Guidelines here. Deadline: January 27th, 2023.

They really do need to arrange a movie night. Geek and nerd culture references don't work without indoctrination.

To be fair, crossing the streams does have a good track record when dealing with kaiju.

Whether or not you were around in the 80s, being an adult who hasn't seen Ghostbusters is weird and should be remedied immediately.

Just as long as it's (1984) and not (2016).

Followed by "Afterlife", of course.

If you're old enough to have heard of and watched it, that's legit whether or not you were around for the original release. There are how many Star Wars fans born after 1977 who have enjoyed the (currently available version of) the original movie?

The classic the spell went against the sorcerer, only it's got bigger...

At least Twilight manage a landing...

Sure, she came in hot, and locked the landing gear trying to stop while skidding the length of the runway...

In contrast, I'd expect Rainbow Dash to be shaking the dirt out of her mane and tail -- from the bottom of an impact crater.

HAH!
I've got a friend who hadn't seen the original Ghostbusters until about a month and a half ago, so this is especially hilarious to me.

This situation happens to me often; I talk about movies from the 80s I grew up on and all my friends in chat are like "oh, haven't seen that one. Before my time."

I've invested in some DVDs over the years and have been educating the younger generations. It's great when you hear them enjoy these old classics. :3
