Through this whole process I'm imagining somehow you've got actual John de Lancie at your casual weekend D&D group and you have to figure out how to rein him in because his sheer dramatic intensity is scaring your regulars, who have no idea this guy's a celebrity. There are far worse situations to be in, but that's a tricky line to walk all the same.

…I’d probably be Fluttershy in such a situation… I don’t pay much attention to celebrities… I probably wouldn’t even be able to identify my favorite VA… Though that may partly be because she’s got so many voices, Timmy Turner, Twilight Sparkle… My personal favorite, Experiment 624 Angel…

A successful one at that as Discord de Lancie has agreed to dial it down to 10.

I can identify with Discord here... for LARPs I go whole hog, complete canned ham, all the way.

Wait, so is this game actually just the cast of "Star Trek: The Next Generation"? But I thought they were all playing that Gargoyles rpg?

I would pay real money to see the likes of Johnathan Frakes and Brent Spiner play as ponies in a D&D adventure.

I remember seeing this exact quote in another webcomic (though in different context), and thought for sure this was some reference I was missing. But when I Google it in quotation marks I get this page and the page of that other webcomic, and that’s it.

Am I missing something?

Another option to unwind is to go to a karaoke bar and sing death metal/rap song, I heard that this tanuki is rather fond of it....

Although if there's a Tanuki ripoff out there, I want to see it.

Somebody asked me to tone it down at a game night because I was getting too excited talking about a show I used to like as a kid. Ruined my whole night! I wish I could have handled it this gracefully, but to me it was an emotional gut-punch having to be more "normal" amongst friends.

That sort of thing happens to me a lot. I know I shouldn't brood over criticism, but it's impossible not to - even when I understand the problem and don't blame the other person. It makes group interactions difficult.
