DM: But it's alright. You can read it aloud out-of-character and I won't try to "gotcha" you.
Twilight Sparkle: Phew, thanks. "From one to another, another to one. A mark of one's destiny singled out alone, fulfilled."
(beat)
Twilight Sparkle: I can see why it was described as "incomplete." Is it supposed to end in a rhyme?
DM: Not necessarily, but you'd know that rhymes give incantations power.
Twilight Sparkle: What do I do with this? Am I supposed to finish the line? How does this relate to the power of Harmony?
DM: Do you want a hint?
Twilight Sparkle: Absolutely not. But... thanks for asking.
It takes trust and communication to dial in challenge and difficulty. Both in tabletop and video games. Sometimes it's good to check in and make sure you haven't completely left your players behind in the desert, and sometimes your players want to make their way through a desert.
And sometimes the animal rights people are still mad at you for what you made players do to cross the desert almost 20 years later. [looks toward developers of Breath of Fire 3.]
This reminds my of my struggling with mysteries and some kind of puzzle... Either it's entirely too easy, and they solve it instantly, or its so vague and obtuse that they will never solve it.
So... From where is the second image? I guess it's obvious that it was to not make it easy for Twilight if the Cutie Marks or something from her friends are in the book.
I got a weird relationship with that episode, and the pillars in general... I mostly dropped off the show at that point, save for Premiers, finales, and any plot centric episodes in between... And any episode with Trixie.
Because Trixie.
I dropped off because I largely got sick of the needless Slice of Life "filler" that ate up most of the show, icy I felt was at its absalute best when it was adventurous...
Stars Whirl(I am not letting that idea die!) and the pony avengers felt sort if rushed, despite the foreshadowing and development given to them before the episode, and Stygian, while also suffering from Villain Name Predestination Syndrome(VNPS) worse th Edward Nygma, was a extremely shallow villain with honestly sort of weak motivation... And the idea the Elements originated from them, whom basically resorted to nuking Stygian without trying a more meaningful option, always felt like shit... But I suppose it fits as Starswirl never DID finish that spell Twilights fiddling with in the comic... But that same fact makes the idea he had a part in creating the very symbols of harmony strike me as forced...
And on top of all that his personality was largely as insufferable as Chancellor One-Joke.
Sorry Spud, Panal 2 touched a land mine in my psyche, sorry for it 'splodin and getting sand all over ya XD
I for one, think that the show stopped being good around season 5, so if you managed to reach season 7, CONGRATULATIONS... Even so, I admit that Discord and Cozy Glow are my favorite villains, but even so, I think they just thought Cozy was being too 'intelligent' and they reduced her I.Q, that is why she failed and why in the last season she was not as good.
Cozy glow could of been less obvious that she was secretly evil, maybe introduce her with the whole school concept, give her a few more prominent appearances, make her wicked true self more background, so atleast some people are shocked... Maybe show her playing Chess so her cutie mark was not immediately a red flag...
That said, yeah, she is one of the better villains, and people who wanted her redeemed missed the entire point of her... The most evil villain in the entire show... Is just some filly... No tragic backstory, so evil curse, no inherently wicked power... Just a twisted desire for power, and she got closer to winning, TWICE then all the other villains combined.
I actually adored her weaponizing friendship against the main six, and I could see some actual fondness in that trio, even if their own Egos and ambitions were doomed to ruin it... The fact they all KNEW that made it all sort of more... Legitimate...
Even then, it was cozy whom was the one to try and (briefly) betray the other two when she tried to use Discords power...
I think the writing in later episodes is some if the best, I was just entirely done with Slice of Life stories by then.
I hope G5 has more adventure. But considering Magic is gone and the worlds Moderniz d, I somehow doubt it, I think it's swerving fully into slice of life, and I hate it.
