Guest Author's Note: Rarity's and Rainbow Dash's joke aside, relaxation and intoxication are quite different and should not be confused. Fluttershy's mint julep, for instance, is an alcohol-free version.

Newbiespud's Note: New Spudventures is up! How are our woodland Vagabonds doing after an impromptu and chaotic prison break?

Frankly, I've never seen a game improved by adding alcohol. It has led to some spectacular disasters, though.

I have - when the alcohol was *in moderation*.

For my Friday night games, its mostly a social event - a chance to unwind after the work week. So having a few of the more tightly wound folks wrapped around a drink or two to loosen up a little allows them slip into "enjoy the night instead of stressing about life" a little faster. (Besides - we are all most thoroughly above the regulatory drinking age. All but one of our group is over double it...)

Then again - we tend to play "beer & pretzels" style anyways at this point. Where even unlikely but entertaining plans are allowed to flourish - so maybe that's a part of it...

What about in-game alcohol?

Also been there in terms of spectacular alcohol-induced disasters. One of the most ridiculous game sessions I was in had the DM of a Star Wars game set in the Clone Wars drink himself into a slurred stupor as the players were sent in to grab an artifact from a tomb General Grievous was also sent into. Basically made it clear he wanted to have his OP-compared-to-us DMPC fight Grievous while we fled, but instead the players Force-snatched the artifact and the DMPC and ran before blowing up Grievous with explosives we planted before the room with the artifact.

As far as I know almost all my games everyone has been sober, and whacky shenanigans happen a lot.

...Course, my friends could just have not told me cause they know I hate alcohol. But at the very least that means they were sober enough to fake it to someone who gets sick from the smell.

I think this is relevant enough.
Favorite gaming snack.

Me:pretzels, peanuts, a bottle of Mountain Dew.
The soda, not Luna brew.

Whenever I host I always provide a snack platter of baby carrots, Chex Mix, and dip.

I thought Pinkies Player was known as a great DM. What's the problem? I would be excited for another session of Hydras, ghosts, and balanced silliness with cool adventure.

Your question will be answered by the end of this arc. For now, remember that Rarity is not the most consistently reliable of narrators - and neither is Rainbow when Rarity is inspiring her.

I've mentioned quite some time ago my misadventure in drinking while GMing.

Years later I've built up a better tolerance and so I've been able to run a session and drink a little without trouble. Two of the Shadowtrot sessions I've run were with a beer in hand.

Mostly to calm myself. Even a seasoned GM can have jitters now and then.

"Two of the Shadowtrot sessions I've run were with a beer in hand."

That explains so much. :P
