MD: You all hear an announcement from assistant principal Luna over the school's intercom system. "Students: It has been brought to my attention that the gymnasium has been vandalized."
PP: What!?
MD: "Thanks to one student's vigilance, we were able to apprehend the culprits...But until further notice, the Fall Formal will be delayed."
Twilight Sparkle: ...why would Sunset trash the décor and delay the Formal?
MD: I didn't say it was Sunset...But if it was, it would be a decent way to split your group, and give her more time to further tank your rep.
Twilight Sparkle: I'm not...entirely sure that makes sense. It's like- Uh, is she all right?
PP: WHAT'S THE POINT OF BUILDING A SET IF YOU DON'T GET TO TRASH IT YOURSELF!?
Guest Author's Note: "Not much to say today. I usually save these author's notes for last, and uh, won't lie, it's been a really hectic and frustrating couple of days. Some generally not great news on top of my usual workload, plus my school workload coming back in a way that isn't...super great for my general style of learning/working. I'll get by, but it's just a lot to deal with all at once.
My old group managed to pay their 2,000gp property taxes by moving a flying castle over the tax collector's house and dropped the entire payment in one lump sum. Paid in copper pieces.
This also means the portal will close before the fall formal happens and the GM has to retcon when the portal closes because they gave the players a hard deadline.
This will, of course, fail because Twilight is *this* close to converting them into true players, who completely screw up the gms plans no matter what.
Not sure. Trashing the gym doesn't address any of the characters' objections to the idea of a heist, and it doesn't create time pressure or raise the stakes. I think Sunset-as-GM is improvising and trying to invent an obstacle the party will accept and respond to rather than try to further Sunset-the-antagonist's temporarily nonexistent plans.
Sunset did say they weren't going to push the heist and the only character it puts pressure on is Twilight. Twilight is going to have to convince the girls to help clean up the place and push the dance back to tomorrow night.
On the one hand, working nights means I'm getting paid to read and watch TV. On the two hand, I haven't said a word out loud to another human being in weeks. And on the three hand, I can't find anyone awake to game with. Overall, been better.
