DM: In any case, who are you going to "rescue" first?
Smolder (RT): Well, to make an arbitrary decision: Ocellus.
DM: Alright then. The spiders lead you into into a passage that, with every turn, looks more and more like a corrupted changeling hive. Eventually, you find… an evil-looking changeling queen, who seems quite pleased with herself.
Ocellus / Chrysalis (TS): Oh, Smolder! Smolder, it's me, Ocellus! Check this out!
Smolder (RT): …Whose voice is coming out of that changeling queen? Is it hers?
DM: It seems younger and higher-pitched than it should be for a queen of that size, yes.
Ocellus / Chrysalis (TS): What? This form doesn't get an intimidating deep voice??
DM: Not unless Ocellus had a deep, intimidating voice to start with.
Ocellus / Chrysalis (TS): Oh, come onnn!
Mixing these Chrysalis screencaps has been an absolute treat, if for no other reason than I get to play with a much wider range of emotions with the character than is usually available.
I have a unicorn doctor who is really good with illusions. She managed to get past hive guards with a changeling disguise and meet Chrysalis. The disguise didn't fool her one bit, and she was probably both impressed and infuriated that her hive couldn't tell.
Probably the only campaign I'll ever take part in where I got to play Chrysalis' lawyer in front of pony parliament.
But is it an objectively giant sword or a sword that is giant relative to your reduced size? I think something like an 18-inch person wielding a 6-foot sword successfully could still be intimidating.
Not quite that bad... 2nd Ed RuneQuest used 3D6 for SIZ of humans (later edition changed that to 2D6+6).
I had a barbarian SIZ 6 or so, with STR 18, using a bastard sword one-handed. To put that into perspective, the sword was 48 inches long -- the character was about 54 inches tall.
Me: Sweet so my kobold barbarian is now Fine sized? However I can still count as large when beneficial thanks to my levels in Goliath stoneblessed. I'm also stacking Sho- Disciple unarmed damage with Greater Mighty Wallop so reducing my Base size by 2 increased my unarmed damage by 16d8 per hit.
I knew a guy who bent rules and used 3rd-party feats to make a mage that wore plate. He dumped STR to get his INT high, and prepared fly so he could skip climb and swim checks. Then we had an underwater mission, and his bonus on swim checks was -16...
With Polymorph being a thing in this system, why would the voice matter when the rest of the body is (if Smolder assumes that is Ocellus) changed or at least an illusion?
Since in strip 16 RD said that "it's been almost an hour", this would make approximately 3.44 minutes per strip (assuming the same amount of time passing in same-length strips).
1267 strips, with 10% of them being double-length is equivalent to 1394 single-length strips.
1394 multiplied by 3.44 minutes is approximately 80 hours of play.
That's 40 game sessions if each one lasts 2 hours (like the first episode of Fallout is Dragons).
(Btw Spud, how long do your D&D sessions usually last?)
...or 13 game sessions if the DM is a maniac like the Past Me and does sessions lasting 6+ hours.
