DW: It'll take Gin a few minutes to calm down even with Doc's help, right? Enough to get somewhere private?
GG: Yeah.
GM: Sure.
DW: What. In. Tartarus?!?
GG: Yeah. That… I… I don't know why they're doing that! It's not right! Just… just… getting rid of ponies because losing bores the bigwings. I helped build this place because I thought it'd be fun for everypony. So we could all live with water and food and entertainment and safe and secure and all those things ponies don't have on the ground anymore! But then the bigwings put in the Master Cloud Pillar to control everything. And they use it for this! As if they're the only ones who matter!
DW: This Master Cloud Pillar sounds important.
GG: Uggh… Yeah, it's meant to maintain the cloud-walking enchantments. But it can break any of them remotely. Now it's just used as a big threat: Do what we say or we'll drop you. It isn't even needed; unicorns could renew the enchantments.
DW: Can you lead me there?
GG: Why would you want that? I mean, fine, but it's guarded. They'd snap your disc in an instant if you got close! And it'd summon the bigwings, so there'd be a time… Wait, why are you grinning?

The bigwings will show up soon enough, but in the mean time would anyone care to guess exactly what they are?"
Not even asking "why did you bring me into a death game when you knew the losers would die"? I didn't see anything suggesting that it was necessary for them to actually play that game.
I think the distinction is that it's possible to lose without breaking your disk. It seems like something that could be fun if you can protect your back, and I assume that why Gin invited Doc to participate. I also kind of understand, based on Gin's reaction here, why the character might not want to talk about the more lethal elements.
Remember that Gin did give that warning back when taping up Doc. Moreover, there's an implied "or else" from the bigwings - despite the fact that Gin helped build the Cloud for a very different purpose. As in, "bring your guest here where he might die, or else he will die".
Eh, like I said on the last page, it's kind of hard to see Gin's reactions as sincere, plus honestly I feel the "I was forced to bring you there" thing could be stated more clearly. I know most of the jokes in page 3 were supposed to be OOC, but they still take me out of the action a lot since there aren't really any OOC jokes like that on other pages.
EDIT: Also, he said "don't break your disk," not "losing a game will break your disk" or "your disk can be broken by the outside force controlling this whole place," which is very different.
I love the low-key tenderness of the first three panels. Honestly, I think they capture one of the reasons I've always liked the show and world of Friendship is Magic: love and compassion are pretty freely given and unconditional. These two just met, and Doc is all but cradling Gin to comfort him. I just love the sweetness of the gesture, and the expressions on the characters.
Of course I've been conditioned to view this as a shippable moment, but this is just a very empathic moment between virtual strangers. I love how natural this active comforting seems. It's less that it's a remarkable gesture and more that this conveys really well how UNremarkable it would be for ponies to engage in similar behaviors to this one. All I can say is "well done."
Granted, this is also the "new player characters instantly befriend one another" trope. But that's part of why ponies and roleplaying games go together.
