DM: …Continue.
Twilight Sparkle: What exactly do you mean by "cursed?"
Fluttershy: He's using magic to compel us to behave by certain rules. Rules that so happen to make us act against our Element. Let me guess! Pinkie Pie's not laughing…
Pinkie Pie: I'll laugh over Discord's GRAVE.
Fluttershy: Rarity's being greedy…
Rarity: You would too if you were carrying a DIAMOND!
Fluttershy: …and Applejack's lying.
Applejack: …Flutters, every word you just said sounds like complete hooey.
Fluttershy: So with my curse, he's undermining my kindness.
Twilight Sparkle: And with me, he's already taken my magic. I guess that fits the pattern.
Fluttershy: I'm not sure that's the full extent of his–
Twilight Sparkle: Wait. Discord's not here… There's only one Element left. He's going after– We have to find Rainbow Dash. NOW.
I would assume that Applejack's curse stops working if she's saying something everyone already knows. But I guess so far Fluttershy's comments are technically just speculation and Applejack confirming what she said would be revealing the truth.
@mystic seer That's not what I mean. Applejack is allowed to say true things so long as she is not revealing any new information. If someone asks her if the sky is blue, she isn't forced to say no. She isn't revealing anything by saying yes.
@Wulfaed: I'm not the one you paged, but I can elaborate none-the-less. Tillamook is a dairy and cheese factory based in Oregon, has some pretty awesome cheeses and ice creams. It is pretty well worth it to visit, even if there's no longer an actual tour of the factory level because of health and safety; they've got self-guided kiosks and stuff now.
I always took the whole Element of Magic thing to be more about having faith in your friends, or just trust in general. The whole "open up your heart" thing, instead of closing yourself away in a wizard tower to read books forever.
Interesting point: Celestia refers to Twilight as "my faithful student."
Well, I've caught up for the first time in a few years, I'm amazed you're still going so strong.
So, now I'm really curious, how do you break this Rainbow Dash? Make her act her alignment somehow? Or somehow subvert it? I'm trying to figure out what would make her leave the maze, too...
Happy birthday Spud, my mid-August birthday buddy. I remember my 20's. Mostly because they lasted until Saturday. I don't really celebrate my birthdays, but now I wish I'd been to a cheese factory. I would've eaten more than my fair share too.
I can think of worse things to do on my birthday. Mmm, cheese…
Oh, and happy birthday! Hard to believe I've been following this comic since I found it in 2011 when you were still doing the pilot episodes. It's actually what got me into watching the show, which I hadn't heard of before. :)
That's it; that's the end of the story.
