I feel like Time Turner (or whatever his name is) isn't taking this game too seriously, expecially since he always seems to have a drink.

Just sippin away at his drink with a really bendy straw. That's sounds strangely relaxing now that I think about it.

To be fair...it's just a game and he's a civilian. He doesn't really have anything to worry about unless the mafia do him in except the lynch phase. And far as the mafia go, nothing he can do about it so why worry?

I'd probably do the same thing in his position. Just chill and enjoy slurping something. Mind you, I'd also do the same thing as a mafia, cop, or nurse.

Yeah all this thinking is making me thirsty.

Hmm, back on page 12 Dash was quite surprised that Twi got killed off. Unless she's an expert actress, that kind of reaction to me lends credence that she is not mafia.

Well he is the Doctor, after all. XD
CocoaNut 13th Jun 2017, 9:13 PM edit delete reply
I think he's been observing. He's trying to figure out for sure that Fluttershy is mafia. And he just got his confirmation.

After all, how would Rainbow Dash know that he's Civilian instead of Nurse unless she was the Nurse?

Lovely, now we have both Twilight and Pinkie making grimaces trying to avoid giving out information.
Composer99 13th Jun 2017, 6:36 AM edit delete reply
Fortunately, unless Luke (who is playing Doc/Time Turner/whatever) disbelieves Rainbow Dash, their efforts to constrain themselves will not have been in vain. :)
HopeFox 14th Jun 2017, 2:13 AM edit delete reply
In all honesty, if I were Spike, I'd ask both Twilight and Pinkie to leave the room at this point. It's not what I would want to do, but the slightest cue from either of them could ruin what has turned into a very exciting finale.

I have a sudden feeling that Fluttershy and RD are going to vote off Time Turner and declare a tie.

It doesn't work like that. As explained on prior pages, ties go to the mafia.

In that case, if Time Turner were Mafia, the town wins. If one of the other two are Mafia, they would kill the Nurse in the following night, so the Mafia wins. I believe the Nurse is not allowed to protect themself or at least not protect the same person in consecutive rounds, meaning they will get killed sooner or later.

But I just remembered another interesting question and that is what happens when there's a tie in who gets lynched in the day. I don't think there's a rule in place that prevents that which seems like an oversight.
The way we always handle that is that at the beginning of the first day, everyone votes for who becomes the Mayor. The Mayor's job is to lead the discussion during the day and their vote breaks ties. If they die, they choose their successor.
That way, there can never be a tie. So, if there are, for example, one Mafia and one Civilian on the last day, it's not immediately a lost cause for the town.

Oh man the classic "one town, one mafia, one other" split. In versions of mafia with more roles, that can get really dicey. Like the survivor, whose job it is to just not be dead at the end regardless of which side wins. One time I had a game where I was a detective, knew for a fact which of my two remaining people were mafia, and the other guy was claiming survivor. I told him to help me get the mafia, and he replies "well, it's way harder to win as mafia than town, so we're lynching you because the mafia deserve a break once in a while."

Good lord I was mad.
Kira 13th Jun 2017, 10:31 AM edit delete reply
To be fair. Mafia can't win at all in professional games.

"Professional" is definitely not what I'd use to describe the StarCraft Mafia mod community. This is a community where you can reasonably hope to win as the really stupid roles like Witch or Arsonist.

Wait a minute! What about Rarity? Rarity was outed by Pinkie and now Pinkie is shown to be a cop... Did we skip a day or something?

evilauthor 13th Jun 2017, 11:41 AM edit delete reply
Wait a sec, can Dash really do that? Just reveal her role without being forced to by being assassinated or lynched?

Because if so, then the game should have been over after the first night by having all the civilians, detectives, and nurse turn over their cards first thing.
Needling Haystacks 13th Jun 2017, 12:11 PM edit delete reply
They can VERBALLY state their role, but CANNOT reveal their cards. Mafia then just lies and claims to be whatever the largest group is (typically Civilian). If a lot of people in your group are bad at bluffing, though, sometimes even verbal reveals are disallowed.
Night Writer 13th Jun 2017, 12:14 PM edit delete reply
You can tell people you're any role but you can't show them your card. And nobody is obligated to believe you (see also: all the debate about Pinkie).

And we're off! Hooves on mouths. Who's gonna blab first? Who's going to ruin it for everyone? Pinkie or Twilight. Twilight or Pinkie. Perhaps even both. Step right up and place your bets, folks!
Brickman 13th Jun 2017, 9:12 PM edit delete reply
Pinkie Pie is an idiot for not explicitly saying who she had investigated when it's obvious she had a good chance of being killed. If I were at this table and the town somehow managed to lose, I would give her 100% of the blame.
Ransom 16th Jun 2017, 7:07 AM edit delete reply
...she did? She explained she checked out Time Turner.

She couldn't say she checked out Fluttershy because she was killed.
CocoaNut 13th Jun 2017, 9:17 PM edit delete reply
Posted this earlier in a reply, but I thought I'd create a thread for it:

Rainbow Dash had two choices for Time Turner: Nurse or Civilian.

If she's Mafia, why would she immediately assume that he's Civilian?
HopeFox 14th Jun 2017, 2:11 AM edit delete reply
Rainbow Dash has been giving out clues that she's the Nurse almost since the start of the game (as other posters have noted). If she's Mafia, then she decided to be Mafia-pretending-to-be-Nurse at the very start of the game. That's a valid strategy, but it means that the real Nurse knows that the fake Nurse is Mafia. If Rainbow Dash is Mafia and Doctor Hooves is the Nurse, then the town has already won, so all RD can do is keep claiming to be the Nurse and hope that Fluttershy is the real Nurse.
