The callbacks are starting to get insane.

That was almost exactly four years ago.

I don't know about that C rank man. The S5 finale demonstrated they're capable of actually ending the world apparently.

I'm not the only one who had to look up 'Sonet', right?
Masterweaver 12th Nov 2016, 7:00 AM edit delete reply
Masterweaver
No. I knew what a sonnet was, but not a sonet. I guess Pinkie Pie would be interested in light based computing on a grand scale.

Looks like the Spud ninja'd the spell-correction, lol

I had it right this time, dammit

"Grand scale" means it might enable grand parties, so I can see her being interested.

AHHHHH

That was awesome. Great throwback.

This ain't a scene, it's a charms race.

When bards have epic throw downs, everybody has a good time. I regret that I never had any pc who liked playing a bard. Well, once in a while they might dip bard, but mostly for the skills. Never for the entertaining craft.

So ponies have the word tank in their lexicon, and it has one definition of the vehicle (based on what Dash named his tortoise). Wonder what kind of tanks they have?
Limey Lassen 12th Nov 2016, 5:23 PM edit delete reply
Party tanks
Winged Cat 12th Nov 2016, 6:41 PM edit delete reply
Winged Cat
I suspect they have water tanks, in the same sense that we do: large, not-self-propelled containers of water.

If they have had wars this side of the invention of the locomotive, it's quite possible the name "tank" for the vehicle came about the same way it did for us ("no, honest, these are just mobile water tanks, not purpose-built weapons").

Then again, MLP being MLP, it's also possible their first tanks were more honestly water tanks - as in firefighting vehicles with water cannons. ("Ready, aim, extinguish!")

I am not the only one who just imagined Rainbow Dash driving such a vehicle while manically laughing as she puts out anything...right?
Digo 12th Nov 2016, 8:18 PM edit delete reply
Well, Dash said that her Tortoise was persistent and unstoppable, like a tank.
CCC 14th Nov 2016, 12:26 AM edit delete reply
Wouldn't they just use clouds for that?

Depends how many pegasi there are in the area. In mostly earth pony areas (Appleloosa, for instance), I can see this being a thing.

Who's willing to bet Pinkie already has a few sonnets up her... sleeve? In her hair? Somewhere.

More to the point: how fast can she come up with a new one, on the spot? With the right inspiration, it doesn't take that long to whip out a rough one.

But it does take a few minutes being out of the spotlight. Might Twilight be preparing one, for herself or for Pinkie to perform, just in case?
Cyborg7221 13th Nov 2016, 5:55 PM edit delete reply
I'm pretty sure that Twilight's still busy working on her build. That means that, for better or for worse, Pinky is on her own.

I'd be disappointed if the next page does not feature Pinkie Pie doing a sonnet. Singing a sonnet? Heh, whatever, you get the idea.
Sidnoea 13th Nov 2016, 7:51 PM edit delete reply
It's probably not your fault, but I did just notice that Pinkie Pie is missing her cutie mark in the third panel. Damn lazy animators.
Delta Echo 13th Nov 2016, 11:43 PM edit delete reply
And between panels 5 and 6, you can absolutely hear the needle-scratch.

(I'm currently on comic 454, but thought I'd toss an idea out for consideration).

So, I'm going on the assumption that "Elusive"'s identity has not yet been revealed.

I had an insight into a perfect pony for the part. The only problem? This pony doesn't get much screen time, so good images will be elusive. :-).

Derpy.

I know, you look at the pony, and think it's an idiot, right?

So the eyes are off. So a few genes are defective. That's not an automatic sign of an idiot.

Biologically, "pretty" is just a fancy word for "symmetrical" plus "all features average", as an indication that the genes inside are probably middle-of-the-road / best for children. Derpy is clearly not a middle-of-the-road gene pony. But that can just as easily mean super-smart and super-manipulative, a pony that can get everyone else to underestimate them, or just ignore them.

As I said, I'm about 400 comics behind, and catching up (I'm just at the "you got your barbarian guild in my thieves guild" point).
