<sleepily> Hey, wait, didn't I already do something like this for the Diamond Dogs...?

Well, the Diamond Dogs weren't dancing, and they had a far better rant than the bees do. :3

Yeah, they had flashbacks, and a prisoner to rant to, and everything.
Someone 19th Jul 2016, 6:08 AM edit delete reply
No, Diamond Dogs were ranting about pony hipocrysy, bees are ranting about pony lazyness. Totally different things. It does seem though that the nature itself revels ponies.
Alas, story time for today: Tell of a time when you had someone elses duties dumped upon you/dumped your duties on someone else and it didn't end well.
FanOfMostEverything 19th Jul 2016, 7:06 AM edit delete reply
No story to fit the topic, but I will note that the bees are on much firmer moral ground (occupying more stable moral airspace?), since they've only been acting in self-defense rather than ranting at someone they enslaved.

The party one time decided to let me come up with the plan of attack to take down Count Strahd, instead of the party cleric leading the charge, or the wizard using one of his usual gambits, or even the paladin who usually proclaims to be the team leader.

The sad part was that I was the *DM*.

So did you win?

Before anything else, I have to say.
I got myself a job!
I'll be teaching my first class this afternoon.
Someone 19th Jul 2016, 1:34 PM edit delete reply
Really. Huh. Well, welcome to hell.

Nice! I am going to an interview for the same type of thing tomorrow... Wish me luck.
ANW 19th Jul 2016, 6:41 AM edit delete reply
If you was a teacher, what would you teach?
T 19th Jul 2016, 6:54 AM edit delete reply
How to learn languages with video games, comics and cartoons.
Dusk Raven 19th Jul 2016, 7:29 AM edit delete reply
Despite being a science buff, I think I'd like to teach history - it's a field in desperate need of good teachers, and such a field appeals to my love of telling about neat things.

History or math. History because I enjoy it (and there is a lot to learn from it), math simply because I am good at it.

Also, congrats on a job.
Winged Cat 19th Jul 2016, 11:11 AM edit delete reply
If I could teach anything? How to become a god. Because hopefully I would be able to learn that alongside my students. ;)

More seriously, quite a bit of my job consists of teaching people and machines how to do their jobs - as in, coming up with new procedures to do something that was previously impossible (or just a lot harder), and describing them well enough that others can perform them.
Darkside 19th Jul 2016, 12:28 PM edit delete reply
I think I'd be either a literature or mythology teacher.
aylatrigger 19th Jul 2016, 2:22 PM edit delete reply

Math, as I am trying to teach.
ANW 19th Jul 2016, 3:57 PM edit delete reply
You and me are on the same page.
Though I'll be working with a group instead of a class.
Jobany 20th Jul 2016, 10:03 AM edit delete reply
I'd attempt to teach the idea you have to work for what you need and want.
T 19th Jul 2016, 6:53 AM edit delete reply
Just tell the bees that you can give them enough sugary water to fill the entire hive and increase the number of flowers near their hive in the next spring since ponies are capable of planting... I mean long term phytomancy.

Clearly what Fluttershy needs to do is get Granny smith involved, since she knows how to sweet-talk the bees.
T 19th Jul 2016, 7:23 AM edit delete reply
Just think about it. From the point of view of bees humans, and in this case ponies, have the power of deciding where plants will grow, have access to nearly unlimited food and can destroy your entire nation in seconds. We are some sort of eldritch abomination that requires the combined efforts of the entire nation to be repelled and this is only if we don't come prepared to deal with them. Them we can come with a nearly impenetrable armor and the ability to make the entire nation fall in a lethargic state. We can protect, feed, kill or rob them and there is nothing they can do if we are really determined to do something.
TipJay 19th Jul 2016, 9:51 AM edit delete reply
Well, yes. Sort of. Humans (ane thereby ponies) depend on bees to pollenate plants for food. So if we were to kill all of the bees, we would have a hard time surviving. Although with magic, there might be another way. But then again, in the world of mlp any problem can be solved in twenty minutes, forty if the fate of Equestria hangs in the balance.
T 20th Jul 2016, 3:58 AM edit delete reply
As a bee nation I mean a hive. A hive is an independent population of bees with their own queen. A human (or pony) could get on a bee suit and take their honey, or change their hive from one place to another. Imagine moving Mexico and all Mexican from the Americas to Asia! We can also increase or decrease their food sources and even offer an endless amount of sugar.

... dang, and I thought I was scary when I get philosophical.
Dusk Raven 20th Jul 2016, 6:05 PM edit delete reply
These bees are certainly impressively philosophical.

you know, the punchline of this comic made me think: Can Fluttershy understand languages like sign language? And is she able make out Thieves' Cant, or is that too much of a code to break and comprehend, even with her ability?
Tempestfury 19th Jul 2016, 4:19 PM edit delete reply
... You know, even through Friendship is Dragons is set in a different world than the cannon. This and the big Diamond Dog rant always makes me uncomfortable.

In all media, there's always going to be implications that a situation isn't as great or smoothly handled as it appears to be. But a lot of the time, that's because the writers can't think of everything when working on the story. Especially not compared to the fans.

So stuff like this? Yeah, it's technically an AU, but their pretty close all things considered. So the rant... I don't know. As an author, I see why their such delicious story opportunities, but at the same time. It feels like it misses the point of the original media...

I might just be rambling here.

Huh, I don't remember a large mercenary organization led by a former Russian spy, a incredibly bitter and angry one legged blond Japanese man, and a former American spy in MLP.
Was the fight against the giant robot in 80's Afghanistan, during one of the Luna dream episodes?
Someone 20th Jul 2016, 11:53 AM edit delete reply
Could we even consider Kaz Japanese though? Or Ocelot as being in charge of something more than torture and training the rookies? Or Big Boss a spy?
