I'm brewing up new campaign ideas, as you might expect, but I'm also brewing up ideas to finally expand my Patreon. For just over two years now, a few of you guys have kept me afloat through some very dark times and expected little more than for the content to keep coming. I am endlessly grateful, and now I want to find ways to give back to the people who've supported me (and, of course, find ways to incentivize a few more dollars to continue keeping me afloat).

Oooh, new campaign ideas? Excellent! I look forward to that.

Meanwhile, it's gotta be frustrating to poor Fluttershy's player that the GM asks her if she tells Seabreeze about the plan, only to mention after the fact that Seabreeze isn't there.
Draxynnic 12th Jul 2016, 7:14 AM edit delete reply
I had the impression that the GM meant that Seabreeze was there when Fluttershy started, and was either so impressed that she zoomed out to get started right away, or so appalled that she left in disgust.

My impression was the phrasing "already out the door", like he had left some time ago and didn't mention this to Fluttershy's player.

The intent is "he left in the middle." Probably should have had a screencap with Seabreeze in panels 1 or 2 before he disappears. <shrug>

If it's any consolation, that is the impression I got… until I read Digo's comment.

Whoops. Didn't mean to be infectious. ^^;

I'd gotten the impression that the GM was asking, intending to have that be an excuse for Fluttershy to notice Seabreeze's departure, but then Fluttershy went on and on.

When it comes to new campaign ideas I have 3 questions
1) will it be fallout related?
2) will it invovle ponies?
3) Will any of the players from the last campaign be involved?
Digo Dragon 12th Jul 2016, 9:19 AM edit delete reply
Digo Dragon
I think it's a safe bet that some of the players from the previous campaign will attend. Having that history together with built up chemistry is usually a positive thing in a group.
Pablo360 12th Jul 2016, 10:41 PM edit delete reply

Unless, of course, this chemistry is of the highly explosive rapid oxidation variety.

This reminds me of a time I did this same thing to the party. In the alt FO:E game I was in, we had just finished searching parts of a massive junkyard (and by massive I mean the whole thing was an underground labyrinth of junk, with six floors and a massive elevator that connected them all) and had found some clues pertaining to the disease that was starting to spread across town. We also found a great deal of useful salvage that we planned on selling for a hefty sum.

There were two problems with this plan. One, the junkyard was owned by the Meccator family and any scrap found there had to be sold at the only gate leading in and out. Two, the Meccator family had the whole system so rigged that you were lucky to get enough caps to feed yourself for the entire day.

The party was not happy when they found out and proceeded to argue with the guards over the prices of the salvage we had collected. Rusty, my Big Mac expy of a character, decided that taking the clues they had found was far more important than arguing over a few caps. So he paid the (surprisingly fair) fee for keeping something out of the junkyard and left. Ironically, the rest of the party didn't notice this and, since we were playing over Skype, they didn't realise that I had gone to the bathroom as they kept trying to use Rusty's (now nonexistent) presence to their advantage. It wasn't until I came back that one of them got sick and tired of Rusty not saying anything and finally said "Come on Rusty, back us up here!" To which I respondeded with "What are you guys talking about? Rusty has been gone for the last half hour."

Suffice to say, they gave up their attempts at bartering once they realised that. Though not before they managed to sneak some of the salvage out with them.

Did the GM notice Rusty had vanished?
Evilbob 12th Jul 2016, 9:44 AM edit delete reply
Evilbob
lol. "Fair" pricing? If we had paid the fees, we would have gotten less than 15 caps for the mountain of junk.

By refusing to pay the fee, returning the junk to the dump pile, and "breaking" (in reality sneaking) the electronics out, we got over 100 caps in the market.

@Digo: Yeah, the GM knew. I can't remember why he didn't correct them until I came back, though. Maybe he thought everyone else knew that I was gone and the way the conversation went didn't clue him in that everyone thought Rusty was still there until I got back. Not that it mattered much in the long run, anyway.

@Evilbob: I'm not saying the prices were fair in any sense of the word. I'm just saying, for a group that charges you two legs just for the permission to bring in your heavy arms and armor, the price to take out a suspicious broken jar was far less than what I was expecting.

Woo! I see I caught up with the webcomic just in time! A potential new Newbiespud campaign! Though the competition will be fierce, I look forward to seeing his ideas!

...Then again, the last time I talked to him about this my "this-person-does-not-want-to-be-talking-to-me" sense was being triggered hard, but then again I did kinda talk to him out of the blue.

Eh. We'll see.

Indeed, I wonder how NS will deal with the likely pretty large interest in his next campaign - especially if he posts a way for readers of FiD to apply.

I feel like there are a dozen different memes I should be trying to hack together right now to pictorally demonstrate this, but I can't think of any, so I'll just completely digress and mention that Dwayne Johnson's character in Central Intelligence was a Brony expy.
