Every fantasy setting comes with its share of "Don't think about it too hard," but in a pony campaign that's half the fun of it. There's an inherent humor to ponies doing mundane things that should actually be impossible if you think about it.
Speaking of pony campaign settings, I rushed out the epilogue of Fallout is Dragons so no one would be kept waiting too long. It's over. This is how a 2.5-year campaign ends.
Session 63 - Epilogue: LibsynYouTube
I'm working on my conversion of setting Shadowrun 4e in Equestria. Something that dawned on me is that while pony hooves usually have some magical dexterity in the show that is a bit weird to some, Shadowrun would completely take out the argument because a pony could easily get a cyberhoof with fingers built into it. Could even make them retractable fingers if you want. :D
Course there's also the amusing thing that cybernetics allows anypony to be an alicorn poser. Heh.
Edit-- you know, I can buy Equestrian pony hooves being magical, but why would Fluttershy have a thimble?
Funny you should mention "alicorn posers", cause I remember reading a Deus Ex crossover that had to actually introduce an in-universe legislation just to stop every unicorn from augmenting themselves with wings. It got worse when they actually developed a functioning horn Aug.
Why would *anyone in Ponyville* have a thimble? The only permanent resident with fingers, that are also small enough, is "I once volunteered my butt as a pincushion" Spike.
You know, the thimble might have been a gift from a griffon or someone else with fingers and, Fluttershy being who she is, just accepted it instead of pointing out that she doesn't have any fingers/claws and thus the gesture is pointless. Just a thought.
Ponyfinder addresses the hoof issue with a spell called "sticky hooves" that allows a certain manipulation with thr hoof. I would presume you could justify a universal vtactile telekinesis " to justify most fine manipulation
I have a theory that earth ponies magic is their hooves, which is how they can handle objects despite a lack of fingers. So, yeah, I can buy the tactile tk.
But how does that explain Apple Bloom in "Call of the Cutie" wherein she uses her mouth to hold her pencil in order to write her schoolwork? (Just as actual horses and ponies will use their lips to manipulate small objects.)
Well from a meta perspective it's a case of early on the crew tried to avoid having the ponies use their legs as arms as much as possible but as time's gone on they've pulled back on that somewhat.
My in universe theory is that it takes time and practice to build up the dexterity to do fine manipulation with your sticky hooves and so young ponies (and even some older ponies probably) use their mouths to write.
I guess in this world, thimbles are not for protecting fingers, but for being tiny cups for critters.
Also, in my Ponyfinder games, you could be an alicorn poser if you were a 20th level Celestial Sorcerer. Of course, at that point you are 'close enough' anyway.
Well the thimble could be for unicorns when they sew with magic...according to the logic of pinkie here. http://acesential.deviantart.com/art/Pinkie-Logic-473890977 She probably got it from Rarity.
Considering in Ponyfinder, if you're playing a Unicorn Sorcerer with the Unification bloodline, you can get wings at level 3, I'd say you aren't a poser at all. Especially since by 20th level, you have infinite use of the wings' inherent fly power.
Story Time
You guys experienced it before more than likely.
"Come on, come on, What? One number short"
For example: you needed a fifteen, you got a fourteen.
I remember witnessing a player finding himself just three exp points short of 15th level. We started joking about what actions would net a player just 3 points.
As the DM I commented "Just show up on time to the next session". Which he did, and for a little while we had a running gag of everyone who showed up to a session on time would get 3 exp.
As a gm I would love to instate a show up on time/at all = gain exp rule... But I would have it instated against me as due to time zones, I am out of work last...
Dynamic Duo is.. I have no idea. It's going to depend on times, availability and above all (If Myself, Dally, Spud) can take time of work. Cause, Idk about the rest of you. But I like money, and Spud and Dally both have jobs that have weirder work scheduled.
I would hope y'all could come up with a schedule that works cause Dynamic Duo/Trio (NIGHTSTALKER) Still needs to be told.
Also if this is really Xencarn what is your real name?
Does it start with an X or H or C ? I know the correct answer do you? :P
Jurii, we don't have an impostor problem. That's Cuteless, Xencarn's player, and he's correct - Dally's chosen to drift away from the group and focus on other things, so the state of Dynamic Duo is a bit questionable for that reason among others.
Oh yeah I had a hard time figuring out the pink mass too at first.
I guess the show makes them move a little, and that part of the pattern is missing here due to still screenshots. Pattern-recognition confusion ensues.
I do have to wonder how the breezies could possibly put on sweaters, (or any clothes for that matter) without completely tearing their wings to shreds.
Course there's also the amusing thing that cybernetics allows anypony to be an alicorn poser. Heh.

Ok, so maybe I was a little over-dramatic. But Fallout is Dragons will be missed.
Or not beacause Dally left. Oh well. C'est la vie, mental health issues are the thing of XXI century.
So no promises, but we'll see.

Some people call me Cupcake, Some Cuteless, Some Xencarn, Some His Royal Higness Zebracorn, Lord of Bombies.
So you know, up to you.

I'll take ten dozen.
