Welcome to the punchline! Glad you could make it.

Hope you enjoyed the Friendship is Dragons take on the Nightmare Rarity comic arc. This was, again, quite a lot of fun.

Next up is, uh, probably Hurricane Fluttershy! Probably. Maybe. Should be.

Pffft hahaha! And thus the comic's original story is put to shame. I certainly love that twist at the end.

It was Friendship is Dragons Rarity If she didn't do it for the loot I'd be disappointed.

Perfect ending. Of course, if my character was there it would go like this:
"Will you still take me as a friend?"
"Of course we will! But we'll have to rough you up a bit first."
I never liked sudden alignment changes.

Nice line. I might have to steal that. XD

*Giggles incoherently to self*

Of course it was, of course it was a renegade heist from the start. In retrospect, two things could be said: that Rarity is now Santa (diving up the loot she got all by her self), and that certain members of the team won't ever let her out of their sight.
Digo 24th Sep 2015, 8:12 AM edit delete reply
But letting her out of their sight is how she got the loot to begin with! :D

Well played, Miss Rarity. Well played

Now to divvy up the loot in fair and honest fashion.....
Let's see.... You ended up with 8 magic items and 500k of saleable loot, so that means
.....divided by that, carry the 4......
One item per party member, and 25k gold each.

(This is why the party rogue should never also be the accountant)

So long as they're a generous thief, I don't see the problem with them sneaking the lion's share of the profits - it just means that money will be coming back to the party in the form of useful items like healing potions.
I'm sure not all rogues are smart shoppers, but the ones I've encountered have been the sort to stock up on extremely useful consumables and gear instead of frittering it away like their teammates might. Ale and whores don't boost morale nearly as much as watching a necromancer's spell interrupted by alchemist's fire to the face!

What if the Necromancer is a party member?
Disloyal Subject 24th Sep 2015, 11:58 PM edit delete reply

Well, then its effects on morale rather depend on what kind of party it is. In most cases, though, I think chucking glass vials of death at the enemy is a better idea than *cough* friendly fire.

For some inexplicable reason in my group the party monks and rangers were the worst ad divvying loot for the reason you stated. Who was usually the most trusted?

The BARD.

And thus, I told a bunch of people on the internet that I don't know anything about writing.

Angel in the third to last panel though... :P

Heh, yeah. He looks like he's gonna commit a murder.

Then again, Angel doesn't exactly have the sweetest disposition of all of Fluttershy's animal friends ...

Rarity investigates

This was a great episode and two Rarity episodes in a row was nice
things I liked
1) Almost total Film Noir with Rarity Narrating
2) This was the first time (Outside of season premiers and Finales ) that an episode felt like it picked up right where the previous one ended
3) Wonderbolts and New Characters including a wonderbolt who looked like a spitfire clone
Classic Steve 24th Sep 2015, 8:43 AM edit delete reply
Also the first time outside of season premieres and finales that the end credits had new music.
Digo 24th Sep 2015, 8:58 AM edit delete reply
That sweet sweet muted trumpet sound.
Albedoequals1 25th Sep 2015, 8:49 AM edit delete reply
There was one other episode with alternate end credit music: "A Friend in Deed" had a piano version of Yankee Doodle for the end credits.

Rarity Investigates was a very solid parody with lots of great theming, strict continuity, and two of my favorite characters showing their good sides.

9.7/10

As a firm believer in "rarity is worst pony" this just feels like another week of nothing for me.

Well the next episode is a map episode starring Applejack and Rairty so I hope you can handle it

It might not be... "half bad" ;)

I sometimes think I must be the only fan who doesn't have a favorite pony. I like them all more or less evenly.

I like them all too, though I generally enjoy Twilight episodes because they're easier to relate to.
Toric 24th Sep 2015, 7:43 AM edit delete reply
Well...this is interesting. This kind of heist would make someone a legend. Maybe some kind of response from the Thieves Guild is forthcoming. Perhaps Rarity decided to subvert the plot for the tickets and give the others a chance for more screentime?
Digo 24th Sep 2015, 8:13 AM edit delete reply
She can certainly bribe her way in now.

This reminds me of the time Luna was cured of Nightmare-ism the second time.

I don't know why, but it just does (and how some former teammates of mine were cured as well).

"Boom, heartshot" is a line I may have to find a way to sneak into one of my games.

Just for a moment I can imagine in Hurricane Fluttershy as she suddenly make a 20 and destroy the plot of the G.M
Digo 25th Sep 2015, 6:52 AM edit delete reply
Maybe all the players abuse the "Assist" rules to give Fluttershy a huge bonus to her flight roll in creating the tornado? :3

You know... this reminds me of the time when I started asking the GM for a listing of all the weapons in a warehouse at an illegal arms deal... and then located a forklift... and commandeered a nearby ship...
