I mean, I'd be concerned if one of my party members came back into the fold suddenly acting like a B-grade action movie character. That'd be very concerning!

Props discord. You made a more realistic alternate pinkie.

And not even the will arnett Batman, either! You monster! You despicable monster!

As much as I would like to think of her as Pete Holmes Batman I think it would be more amusing if she sounded like Jack Black or Arnold.

Will Arnett has a strangely specific typecasting:
A rich guy with mental disorder who likes to pull off disappearing acts, and has no one but himself to blame for his problems.

Which does not make his version of batman less funny.

Just don’t turn into Cousin Maude, Pinkie. We need the actual version of that character in the comic at some point. :D

Maybe her performance as a dull, serious character inspires the player to create Pinkie's sister?
Classic Steve 10th Jul 2018, 7:06 AM edit delete reply
You mean Sister Maud. (Sheesh, that makes her sound like a nun.)

"I want to play a cleric."
"Okay, which deity did you have in mind?"
"I actually wanted my character to revere a concept."
"That's fine. What's the concept?"
"Rocks."

Digo Dragon
Sounds like a solid concept to me. :3
Platonix 10th Jul 2018, 8:07 AM edit delete reply
Actually sounds a lot like a perfectly valid cleric from the Dark Sun setting.

Positively concrete!
HappyEevee 10th Jul 2018, 7:48 AM edit delete reply
That makes so much sense for Maude that it's scary. Boulder must be her Holy Symbol.
Needling Haystacks 10th Jul 2018, 9:18 AM edit delete reply
Makes sense. I assume she'd have some geomancy-type abilities.

Remember, if throwing rocks at a problem doesn't solve it, you need bigger rocks.
Winged Cat 10th Jul 2018, 11:51 AM edit delete reply
Winged Cat
Maud's holy symbol gives her the faith to act bouldly. She's a rock-steady member of her party, and a gem of a friend. She doesn't carry a chip on her shoulder; if she's angry at you, you're in for an avalanche of hurt, if she doesn't just leave you in the dust. Dwarf analogies can be made, as she downs beer by the quartz.

She gives a new meaning to "earth pony".

Headcanon extremely accepted.

Spud, you're the author. Headcanon has waaaaay more power when you say it.

Ah, so you want to play a Dwarf... (or was that a Dorf?)

Cleric of the Elemental plane of Earth. Gotcha.

For the rest of this storyline I'll be imagining her voiced by Alison Brie doing an impression of Will Arnett.

I heartily endorse this product or event.

Yeah,I thought so. Discord!DM isn't a bad guy. I mean, he is, but he wants the players to have fun.
Guest 10th Jul 2018, 11:45 PM edit delete reply
It's just the bait.

He knows that Pinkie's player will go along with fun curses, so he let her choose it. So that he can defeat her.

I 100% expect him to cross a line and go "I win, losers, no way your characters can be playable again" or something like that, before regular!DM goes "oh yeah?" and send Twilight the friendship reports so she can cast her "turn things back to a previous state" spell she got chewed out for trying to cast without preparation, at the begining of this scenario.
Archone 11th Jul 2018, 4:15 PM edit delete reply
No... this guy seems to understand that it's not about "GM versus players." It's "GM plus players." Co-op, not versus. He seems more like the type to get a thrill out of them squealing, "when is he coming back again!?"

I'm not so sure she laid her armor down. A 'Maud'ified Pinkie Pie or Kotoura san, is as scary as Raven from the teen titans, if not more so.

Not to mention, this is how most mentally advanced series were born.

Okay, it's probably just me, but ignoring the context that Discord-faced balloon looks weirdly adorable.
DocBeard 11th Jul 2018, 5:35 AM edit delete reply
Hey, I'm glad Discord-DM isn't a total prick and respected Pinkie's boundaries and worry about going too far.
